Job Description

Canadian Motor Freight Ltd. is one of the leading transportation companies of the Ontario Province. Our distribution network serves clientele in Ontario, Alberta and United States for the transportation needs.
We are seeking to hire 10 Truck Drivers on an urgent basis for our work requirement. The job is required at our offices at 9241 50 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6B 3B6.
Ideal Candidate will be required for a full-time position for minimum of 30 hours per week. Salary will be decided based upon qualification and experience. Range of pay is between $25 to $30 per hour.
Candidate is encouraged to have a high school degree or equivalent experience. Training will be provided.
We require ideal candidate to be able to,
Address customers’ complaints or concerns
Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations
Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
Load and unload goods
Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Pay and receive payments for goods
Perform emergency roadside repairs
Perform preventive maintenance
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
We recommend ideal candidate is able to:
Draft, prepare and read Accident or incident reports
Prepare Dangerous goods occurrence reports
Prepare and record Driver logbook
Maintain, review and record Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
Prepare and update Maintenance and repair reports
Record, review and maintain Trip reports
Handle heavy loads, with ability to sit for longer periods
The job is physically demanding and involve repetitive tasks. A criminal record check, medical check and driver’s abstract will be required on successful selection of the candidate. Expenses related to transport including food and accommodation, if required, will be provided by employer.
